During the visit Andrea performed an acoustic version of her debut single ‘Candle In A Chatroom’, accompanied by Academy Manager Rick Benton on keyboard and Music Tutor Ray Johnson on guitar. The visit, which was organised through the College’s Roland Music Academy, also gave the students the opportunity to talk to Andrea and her Tour Manager about their experiences in the Music Industry.

Walsall College Roland Music Academy Manager Rick Benton, who has previously worked with Andrea in Germany, commented, “We are all very grateful to Andrea for taking time out of her European Tour to come in and give our students a first hand insight into the professional life of a Singer/Songwriter. This visit, along with others planned, gives students an in-depth understanding of the different career options available in the Music Industry.”

 Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Andrea was originally signed to the publishing arm of Dramatico and co-wrote two songs with label mate Katie Melua for Katie’s third album, the multi-platinum selling ‘Pictures’. Now with her own record deal with Dramatico, Andrea has been hard at work writing and recording for her debut album which will be released in 2009. Her debut single ‘Candle In A Chatroom’ is typical of her quirky grown-up pop style.
